Gabriella Rigakos is a Toronto-based filmmaker whose work explores themes of personal freedom and public narrative.

Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Rigakos began developing her creative voice in DIY spaces. Outside the boundaries of traditional training, she learnt to edit and tell stories through suburban landscapes and online fandom communities.

Bringing that independent spirit into a formal setting, she pursued a degree in Film Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she produced short film Part of the Band as her thesis.

Her most recent short, Sick Bird, continues her exploration of deeply personal, narrative-driven work, blending introspection with visual experimentation. Rigakos continues mixing her formal storytelling work with the digital sphere in her many ongoing online projects.

Unafraid to expose her evolving personal narrative, her work is defined by its raw honesty and commitment to identity and expression. This is an ethos she plans to carry forward in both her upcoming films and internet projects.
